TOGETHER WE DEVELOP FUNCTIONAL FOOD TO FIGHT DIABETES AND COGNITIVE DISORDERS
The lack of knowledge sharing among academia and industry in Europe acts as a barrier hampering the development of functional foods for the elderly, who represent one of the fastest-growing population segments worldwide. Common symptoms of this include: university graduates struggling to transit smoothly into industry employment; companies (and SMEs in particular) having limited capacity to capitalise on new technology or find suitably experienced staff; and unnecessary duplication of resources across Europe due to individual institutions working in isolation.
FODIAC coordinates the actions of individual partners, academic and industrial across the whole food value chain, using Exchange of Staff as a tool to capitalize on complementary competences.
In this section, all the partners will share their latest news and personal experiences using these tools for sharing knowledge and improve the functional foods for the elderly population, by developing a collaborative work between Academia and Industry.
