Secondment (second part) of Juscelino Tovar from Lund University (Sweden) to DomusVi (Geriatros SAU, Spain)

As part of the FOCIAC project, I completed the second part of my secondment to DomusVi-Geriatros (Spain) in February-March 2023

During my visit, I was hosted by the Innovation Department, led by Roberto González. I took part in several activities connected to the planning and development of clinical intervention studies, such as:

• Meetings at the company’s main headquarters in Vigo
• Meeting with other members of Fodiac WP-4 (Paula Fajardo (ANFACO) and Lorenzo Pastrana (INL)) at ANFACO-CECOPESCA facilities in Vigo
• Visit the ANFACO research laboratories
• Discuss the concentration to be tested in the clinical trial on the antidiabetic potential of the polyphenol-rich product in elderly volunteers.
• Visit different nursing homes from DomusVi: Vigo, Ciudad de Pontevedra, Cangas, Barreiro, and Ribadumia.
• Encounter with volunteers participating in the evaluation sessions of the acceptability of the polyphenol-rich product at different nursing homes.

I also had the pleasure of enjoying the excellent Galician cuisine and the beautiful landscape of the Rias Baixas.
