During my secondment I had the opportunity to spend one month in Porto at Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry of Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
I acquired new skills and improved knowledge on technical fields related to my company’s research topics. Moreover, it was a good chance to enhance my communication skills dealing with a new working environment and languages and to meet new people from other cultures and backgrounds.
The Professor Manuela Pintado and laboratory colleagues made me feel welcome and I had a great time in Porto.
Porto is a wonderful city: the sea, the Douro River, the streets, the churches and other architectures are of an amazing beauty. It is not possible to forget the fantastic Portuguese pastries, especially pastel de nata.
During my secondment I had also the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Braga and its INL-International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory and Centre of Biological Engineering at University of Minho.
Thank you to UCP, EVRA and the FODIAC project to give me this professional and personal opportunity. It was a fulfilling and pleasing experience.
